Discover a little about how our business got started, what we do now, and more about the things we sell.
Artisan Gardening began in 2011 as a hobby.
After collecting a large number of old “cottage-style” containers, pots, and watering cans, we decided to sell them at local events.
A lot of interest was generated in what we were doing . Upcycled garden furniture, feature flower displays and planters soon added to the stock.
We started with well attended street markets, and the annual Taunton Flower Show. Adding in Toby Buckland’s Garden Festival and The English Country Garden Event in Wells, our list of venues was growing. However so was the stock and it was now time to find a permanent home.
The search ended In April 2017 with the doors being flung open at Artisan Flowers and Gardens in Abbotsbury, Dorset.
Artisan Flowers and Gardens one year on…
During 2017 the business developed with new stock lines added to the regular garden range. Our first year featured arranging flowers for many events including a Wedding, Christening, and an Anniversary party as well as several gift bouquets and table flower arrangements.
The wrapped bouquets, flower and herb gift baskets and feature table decorations proved very popular with seasonal event flowers being widely promoted.
The seasonal herbs and vegetable plants soon sold out, highlighting a need for more!
We did more than just flowers and plants in 2017.
We sold a wide range of reclaimed pots large and small, stoneware ornaments, with one very large stone urn and plinth heading to Germany!
Feature wall pot holders, animal garden ornaments, wicker baskets, and garden related gifts were sold throughout the year.
The shop stocks watering cans, buckets which are so useful in the garden.
We pride ourselves on our competitive price range across the whole shop.
Don’t take our word for it, come and see for yourself.
